Computer scientist, saga enthusiast, professional dragon-botherer. The long version.
I'm Jón Agnar Stefánsson, a computer scientist from Garðabær, Iceland. I studied computer studies at the Technical College of Iceland and computer science at Reykjavík University, where I finished my bachelor's degree in 2016 and helped teach as a teaching assistant.
From 2016 to 2024 I was a software specialist at Advania: frontend development and API integrations, automated deployments, code review, and mentoring junior developers. Along the way I built apps and sites with React Native, Next.js and Ionic, worked on the LiSA CMS, and contracted on Arion bank's website and Reykjavík Energy's intranet.
Away from the code it's ancient history, heroes, myths and legends, which is where the dragons on this site come from. I speak Icelandic and English, and I am learning Japanese.
